Biography
Olga Volfová comes from an artistic family. The greatest influence on her artistic path was her uncle, Miloslav Janků, an academic painter well known as a landscape artist, glass designer, and university professor. She has been devoted to drawing and painting since the age of four.
Her work has been inspired not only by her travels throughout Bohemia and Moravia but also by numerous journeys abroad. Among her major cycles are Poemila, Woman – Mother, Australia, USA and Canada, India, Harbours, Portraits and Figurative Painting, the pastel series Memories of Carnac, and the cycle Erotica.
In 2007 she took part in the project Self-portrait in Czech Art of the 20th and 21st Centuries, organized by the Alšová South Bohemian Gallery at Hluboká Castle in co-operation with the Gallery of Modern Art in Hradec Králové.
That same year, she was invited to Poland to participate in the prestigious international painting symposium XVII Impresje Mikołowskie, representing the Czech Republic. In 2008, she achieved significant success at the Biennale of Small Format Art in Venezuela, where she was selected together with two other Czech artists.
Over the years, Olga Volfová has travelled extensively – to the Netherlands, Malta, Australia, Portugal, France, the USA, Canada, England, Scotland, India, and many other countries whose unique atmospheres have deeply influenced her recent work. One of her major projects, the cycle Woman – Mother, was created for a private gynecology clinic in Switzerland.
Together with pianist and composer Jiří Pazour, she co-creates the internationally acclaimed project Concert of Tones and Colours – an unconventional performance uniting live piano improvisation with live painting, offering the audience a unique moment where two distinct art forms and two worlds merge into one.
Between 2007 and 2025 she exhibited her paintings at more than thirty prestigious exhibitions both in the Czech Republic and abroad.
Olga Volfová works with various techniques, including oil, acrylic, metallic acrylic, tempera, and pastel. Her art is rich in themes, imagination, and poetic expression, often bridging the visual and musical worlds. In her work she frequently reflects on life's essence and the inner connections between man and woman.
Her paintings can be found in galleries and private collections in Poland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Australia, Venezuela, the USA, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia.
